Markham, ON (April 1, 2008) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce that Lionhead Golf & Country Club in Brampton, Ont. will host the 5th Annual CJGA Junior Golf Fundraiser presented by HSBC Bank Canada on July 28th.
The KaneffGolf owned Lionhead Golf & Country Club (Legends Course) will become the fourth host in the event’s five-year history. The unique event will feature a number of Canada’s top touring professionals in attendance as participants in the tournament will have an opportunity to play several holes with a number of different pros over the course of 18 holes. Stephen Ames, Mike Weir, Rickard Zokol, Dave Barr, Jim Nelford, Gail Graham, Ian Leggatt, Jon Mills, Chris Baryla, and James Lepp, are just a few of the professionals that have participated in the past.
“Lionhead Golf & Country Club is a first-class facility,” said Earl Fritz, Executive Director of the CJGA. “The CJGA Junior Golf Fundraiser is a very important event for us as the proceeds assist the CJGA in alleviating the costs associated with providing unmatched junior golf opportunities in Canada. KaneffGolf is to be commended for their continued support of junior golf in this country.
"We are honoured that Lionhead was selected to host such a prestigious event,” said Boris Uvakov, V.P. KaneffGolf. “The CJGA is an outstanding organization, and KaneffGolf is proud to support junior golf in Canada."
The CJGA Junior Golf Fundraiser will follow the final round of the PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open, scheduled to run from July 21st to 27th at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont. Individual and team sales for the event are now available through the CJGA Head Office. Registration will include the tournament entry fee, lunch, dinner, giveaways, prizes, and access to an exclusive golf clinic featuring the participating professionals prior to the round.
