St. Clair College PGM Program to Sponsor CJGA Event in 2008
Markham, Ont. (February 7, 2008) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce the creation of the St. Clair College PGM Junior Open – a new event on the CJGA Junior Tour in 2008.
St. Clair College’s Professional Golf Management Program will assume title sponsorship status of the event that will also mark the CJGA’s return to Southwestern Ontario. The tournament will be hosted by Blenheim Golf Course in Blenheim, Ont. on June 21st and 22nd.
“It is truly an honour to have the opportunity to partner with the CJGA to host what will surely prove to be one of the most memorable stops on the CJGA calendar,” said Kevin Corriveau, CPGA Class A Professional and program coordinator for the PGM at St.Clair College. “We look forward to showcasing our PGM program, our college and our community as the destination of choice for young men and woman looking for quality post secondary education.”
“St. Clair College boasts a respected Professional Golf Management Program at its Chatham campus and we’re excited to have them on board as a tournament sponsor in 2008,” said Earl Fritz, Executive Director of the CJGA. “Many CJGA members may find St. Clair to be a good post-secondary option upon high school graduation if they’re looking for a successful career in the golf industry.”
The two-day event will take on a stroke play format. Registration is open to the general CJGA membership.
