STEPHEN AMES CUP

The 4th annual Stephen Ames Cup will be conducted in Trinidad in 2008 from August 11th to 15th. The three day event, hosted by PGA Tour pro Stephen Ames, will take on a Ryder Cup format, pitting eight of Canada's finest junior golfers against a team from Trinidad & Tobago.  The overall series stands at 2 to 1 in favor of CJGA Team Canada.

Format

• Fourball, Foursomes, and Singles Matches

• 2- Junior Boys 21 & Under
• 2- Junior Boys Aged 18 & Under
• 2- Junior Boys Aged 15 & Under
• 2- Girls aged 21 & Under
• 2- Girls aged 18 & Under

(Age divisions and the number of juniors may change at a later time)

Requirements
Juniors who wish to represent CJGA Team Canada must meet the following requirements:

• Juniors must play in the designated qualifier for the international competition
• Juniors must meet the age requirement for the international event when participating in the qualifier. (Please click here to visit the Tournament Schedule to view the list of qualifiers for each province.)
• Juniors must be a member of the Canadian Junior Golf Association
• Juniors must be in good standing with the Canadian Junior Golf Association
• Juniors who are selected for CJGA Team Canada must be a Canadian citizen  
• Juniors must meet the requirement score for his/hers age category:

Girls – 160     Boys 13 & Under – 158     Boys 14 to 19 – 150

Selection Process:
The CJGA Team Canada Selection Committee will determine the juniors who represent CJGA Team Canada by the following process:

• All results from the designated qualifiers are merged into one national field in each age category
• Scores will then be adjusted based on the difficulty of weather conditions, course conditions, course slope, and course rating
• The adjusted scores will be sorted by the committee.
• Juniors with serious code of conduct violations will be removed from the list  
• The juniors with the lowest adjusted scores in each age category will then be selected to represent CJGA Team Canada
