FOR FULL RESULTS CLICK HERE BLENHEIM, ON (June 23, 2008) – Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) hosted the first ever St. Clair College PGM Junior Open this past weekend, on June 21st and 22nd. The event was played at the Blenheim Community Golf Club as Jeff Gelinas of Windsor, Ont., shot a tournament low 142 (-2) to win the Boys 17-19 Division. Gelinas scored an opening round 69 (-3) to take a commanding seven stroke lead in the division. In the second round Gelinas would not let up shooting 73 (+1) to extend his lead over second place finisher Sam Jackson of Cambridge, Ont., and, Joey Amelia of Erieau, Ont., who finished third. “The course set up well for me,” explained Gelinas. “I was really able to drive and putt well today.” The Boys 14-16 Division was very competitive, with first place and third place only separated by two strokes. Thomas Dixon from Wallaceburg, Ont., won the division scoring 158 (+14). Mississauga’s Russell Bowie and Kody Morphy of St. Thomas, Ont., tied for second place at 160 (+16). “It was a nice course with fast greens,” stated Dixon. “My ball striking was my biggest strength this weekend.” In the Girls Division Stephanie Carr of Amherstburg, Ont. won her first CJGA event iwith a dominating performance. Carr scored 159 (+15) for a sixteen stroke win in her division. Laura DeMarco of La Salle, Ont., and Windsor’s Josephine Vajko finished second and third respectively. Notes Weather June 21: 25°C, Overcast June 22: 24°C, Sunny and windy - Jeff Gelinas posted the low score for the event at 69 (-3) during Saturday’s opening round.

- The par-5 6th hole at Blenheim played the easiest with a scoring average of 5.31
