Richmond Hill, Ont. (June 16, 2011) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is getting ready to host another Ontario event over the weekend at Maples of Ballantrae Golf Club in Stouffville, Ont. This tournament is a qualifier for the US Kids Teen World Golf Championship taking place at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina later this summer. This national event provides North American golfers with the opportunity to compete in a world-class tournament comparable to the prestigious US Kids Golf World Championship, which is targeted towards younger golfers. Juniors should expect very warm weather over the weekend, something Ontario has gotten little of so far this 2011 season.

In the Boys 14 & Under division, Marc Casullo of Aurora, Ont. will be looking for his first victory of the year. Casullo has placed second and sixth so far and will be competing later this summer at the North America Cup. Ryan Ahrens of Peterborough, Ont. will also be in attendance. Last week, he placed second at the Blue Springs event, and he also came in second at the Ontario Junior Linkster series opener. Jason Chung of Thornhill, Ont. will be competing after placing fourth at two events this year.

The Boys 15-19 division includes Cale Wheeler who is travelling all the way from Morgantown, West Virginia to compete this weekend. Brett Geiser of Markham, Ont. will be looking to score well after placing in the top ten at two events so far. Cuyler Braj from Sandford, Ont. will be returning from his fourth place finish a couple weeks ago at the opening CJGA Quebec tournament.

In the Girls division, Monet Chun of Toronto moves up from the Junior Linkster tour to compete. So far this year, she has won two of the Linkster events she played in. Claire O’Neil from Etobicoke, Ont. should provide some close competition after placing second last week at National Pines and third at an earlier event. Mahealani Subad of Orillia, Ont. will also be in attendance after placing fourth last week.

Tee times begin on Saturday at 12:56 p.m. and Sunday at 11:08 a.m. Spectators are encouraged to attend.
