One of the most memorable and exciting moments of the day happened on the eighteenth hole between the first match combatants. Going into the final hole, Team West and Team East were all square with both groups playing pretty balanced throughout the entire round. This 500-plus yard par-5 runs adjacent to a large pond and the slim green is well protected by water in front and a hill on the back side. Rindal and Buchanan both hit monstrous drives to the centre of the fairway, setting themselves up nicely to go for the green in two. With pressure to finish strong, Rindal hit a fantastic flyer from 230 yards out to land within five feet from the pin, setting Team West up beautifully for an eagle opportunity and the victory. Buchanan also hit a great long ball just off the left side of the green, but it wasn`t enough as Rindal sunk his eagle putt to conclude this memorable match.

The Canada Cup continues tomorrow morning with four matches of foursomes. Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m. Spectators are encouraged to attend.
