CJGA PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship Starts Monday in Aurora, Ont.

Richmond Hill, Ont. (July 22, 2011) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is excited to host the 2011 PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship next week at St. Andrews Valley Golf Club in Aurora, Ont. This is the first of two national championships on the CJGA schedule and will feature over 100 golfers from Germany, United States, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.

Tee Time Schedule
Monday July 25: Tee times begin at 7 a.m.
Tuesday July 26: Tee times begin at 7 a.m.
Wednesday July 27: Morning matches begin at 7 a.m. Afternoon matches begin at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday July 28: Semi-final matches begin at 7 a.m. Final matches begin at 1:30 p.m.
 
The first two days of competition will see golfers compete in regular stroke play. At the conclusion of day two, the field will be cut to sixteen players who will compete for the title. Golfers will be ranked one through sixteen in each division based on their two-day total score. They will then be placed in a bracket that will see the No. 1 seed face the No. 16 seed, No. 2 seed face the No. 15 seed, etc. in match play competition. The winner will be crowned on Wednesday evening and join a prestigious group of champions who have conquered this unique national tournament.
