Royal Woodbine Set to Host Ontario PUMA Challenge

Richmond Hill, Ont. (August 30, 2011) A full field of junior golfers are set to tackle the challenging Royal Woodbine Golf Course in Toronto August 31 and September 1 at the Ontario PUMA Challenge stop. This event is the last of the four PUMA Challenge events that take place in British Colombia, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario.
A talented field of 14 & Under boys will look to capture the divisional crown in the final event before heading back to school. Tyler Erb of Toronto is coming off a victory at the Kaneff Finale on Monday will look to continue his solid play for a second consecutive victory. He will be challenged by a number of juniors including Connor Doucette of Waterloo, Nicholas Quesnel of Sudbury, Ont. and Austin Jones of Oakville.
The eventual winner of the Boys 15-19 division will have lots of competition to deal with as over forty competitors will be vying for the title. Christopher Wilson of Timmins, Ont., a member of Lipton Brisk Canada Cup Team East will look to capture his first divisional title of the year in the competitive division. Kacper Pacewicz of Mississauga, Kyle Burns of Penetanguishene, Ont. will also look to contend. Marc-Andre Belanger will look to make his trip a worthwhile one as he travels in from Dieppe, NB to compete in the event.
In the Girls division, Selena Costabile will look for her second division title of the season after capturing the CJGA Ontario PGA Junior earlier in the season. Ana Peric of Etobicoke, Ont. will also look to contend along with London, Ont. native Caitlan Inman.
The PUMA Challenge events have a uniqueness about them as players are welcome to the Players Lounge following the round to sit back, relax and participate in contests through video games.
First round action is to commence at 8:00am. Spectators are encouraged to attend.
