Richmond Hill, Ont. (February 1, 2012) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce the endorsement of the Family Tees Program to The Glencoe Golf & Country Club in Calgary, Alberta. The Family Tee’s program, developed in 2010 through a partnership with Granite Golf Club and the Canadian Junior Golf Association, was implemented to offer families a way to spend quality time together on the golf course while making it a fun experience for everyone.

The program offers tees of varying yardage to accommodate children of different ages and ability. Family Tees are split into three categories; Levels 1, 2, and 3.

The next level, intended for golfers 9 to 10 years of age is 2000 yards for 9 holes. Level 2 has par 3's from 75 to 115 yards, par 4's between 185 and 245 yards, and par 5's from 285 to 345 yards.

Level 3 Tees for golfers 11 years of age and older are 2,500 yards for 9 holes, or 5,000 for the full 18. Par 3's are between 105 to 130 yards, par 4's range from 215 to 345 yards, and par 5's between 385 to 400 yards.

“We are so proud of this endorsement by the Canadian Junior Golf Association. Part of our vision at the Club is to ensure that we provide excellent facilities, programs and services to all members of the family. We feel this endorsement is very supportive of our Family Club orientation and really reflects the commitment towards this type programming” says Judy Forshner, CPGA Head Professional.
