Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 14, 2010) The script went according to plan for the host South Africa Junior Golf Federation, just as is had the previous three Tri Nations Cup. The host nation had a strong final round to capture the Tri Nations Cup played at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa, the third consecutive time they have come back in the final round to capture the tournament.
Starting the day two points back of England, South Africa swept the Canadian contingent in singles matches, and was able to win four of the six matches with the English side, catapulting them to a two point victory over the English squad.
CJGA Team Canada was shut out on the scoreboard in the final round, however that did not take away from the experience the juniors gained during their trip to South Africa.
“It was an incredible experience for each member of the team” said John Lawrence, CJGA Team Canada non-playing captain. “It was a disappointing day today, but each team member will have a lot to take back with them, and will certainly assist them as they move their golf careers forward” added Lawrence.
