Markham, Ont. (June 4, 2007) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce a new home for the CJGA World Junior Challenge. Ginn Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. will host the prestigious event for the next three years. It is scheduled to run from December 27th to 30th.
As the home of the LPGA Tour’s Ginn Open and previous host of the Golf Channel’s Big Break reality show, Ginn Reunion boasts three golf courses designed by some of the biggest names in golf. The resort is also the new home of the Annika Sorenstam Golf Academy.
“The quality of the venue as well as the close proximity to Orlando’s family attractions will make this an attractive choice for both Canadians and international players,” said Earl Fritz, CJGA Executive Director. “We’re excited to enter into this partnership with Ginn Reunion and look forward to the inaugural event in December.”
The CJGA World Junior Challenge will enter its 16th year in 2007. The Golfweek ranked event includes a parent/junior best ball on December 27th followed by three rounds of tournament competition. Past participants have included junior golfers from such countries as Japan, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain in addition to Canada and the United States.
