The host nation had a strong final round to capture the Tri Nations Cup played at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa, the third consecutive time they have come back in the final round to capture the tournament.

Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 13, 2010) The English Golf Union held on to their slim lead over host nation South Africa at the Tri Nations Cup following the second round of play at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa. The English and South African squads picked up 8 points apiece in the second round foursome matches, while CJGA Team Canada picked up two points.

Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 12, 2010) The English Golf Union jumped out to an early lead at the Tri Nations Cup following first round action at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa, collecting a total of17 points on the day. Host nation South Africa is right on their heels after collecting 15 points, while CJGA Team Canada was slow out of the gate, picking up only 4 points in the opening round.

Markham, ON (January 5, 2010) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) and six junior golfers are getting set to travel to South Africa for the Tri Nations Cup this week. The three day match play competition will have CJGA Team Canada compete against the host South African Junior Golf Foundation and the English Golf Union at the beautiful Zebula Golf Estate & Spa in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The tournament will take place from January 12th – 14th.

Reunion, FL (December 30, 2009) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association’s (CJGA) World Junior Challenge presented by GolfWeek came to an exciting finish today. Entering the final round with all division leaders only supporting a one or two shot lead, anything was possible. Despite coming down to the wire, Blake Soni (Bradenton, FL), Isabell Gabsa (Germany), and Andy Zhang (Reunion, FL) were named CJGA World Junior Challenge Champions. “It was really a challenge out there due to tough course conditions,” commented John Lawrence, WJC tournament director, “the commitment of these juniors makes me proud of the development of the sport.”

Reunion, FL (December 29, 2009) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) hosted the second round of the World Junior Challenge presented by GolfWeek today. The first round took place on the Independence Course at Reunion Resort, while the second round witnessed action head to the Legacy Course. Heading into today there was a five-stroke gap between first and second place in both the Boys 15-19 Division and the Boys 14 & Under Division, but as play drew to a close all divisions where separated by a maximum of two strokes.

Reunion, FL (December 28, 2009) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) hosted the opening round of the World Junior Challenge taking place at Reunion Resort. As the juniors representing 17 different countries teed-off the Independence course, the weather was beautiful but as the round progressed high winds and cold temperatures challenged the field.

MARKHAM, ON (December 22, 2009) The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2010 National tournament schedule. Once again, the CJGA will provide unmatched junior opportunities for junior golfers aged 5-19 right across Canada with over 80 events on the schedule. The Junior Tour (boys and girls aged 11-19) will have over 60 events across Canada to participate in while the Junior Linkster Tour (boys and girls aged 5-13) will have 20 events across the country.

Markham, ON (December 21, 2009) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will be hosting the 17th Annual World Junior Challenge, presented by Golfweek from December 27th – 30th at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida. This year’s event will feature some incredible junior talent from around the globe as over 105 juniors from 17 different countries will descend on the Reunion Resort to tackle the Independence and Legacy golf courses. To kick off the tournament, there will be a parent/junior best-ball tournament on Sunday December 27th. The three round stroke play competition will take place from December 28th – 30th.
