With over 90 events scheduled across Canada, the CJGA requires the support of volunteers to maintain a high level of professionalism at every event.
The CJGA prides itself on conducting professional events in every fashion. These events would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of volunteers.
Some of the benefits of being a CJGA Volunteer:
- Volunteer package that will include; Name Badge, CJGA Hat, CJGA Towel
- Travel allowance of $0.36 per KM paid to those traveling to events
- Food allowance of $20.00 per day
- Working with an energetic, youthful staff
- Spending time on the golf course
- Assisting with junior golfers development and watching the future stars of the pro circuits
- Contributing to the community in which the CJGA holds events
A CJGA Volunteer's duties may include any or all of the following:
*Marshalling: Volunteers will drive around the golf course to ensure the overall smoothness of the round. Ensure that juniors are abiding by the CJGA Pace of Play Policy and Code of Conduct. Ensure that parents are abiding by the CJGA Spectator Policy.
Time Par/Pace of Play Monitor: Volunteers will be stationed at check points on the golf course to ensure that juniors are on time when they come through check points. Assess red cards for juniors who are behind time. Ensure that juniors are abiding by the CJGA Pace of Play Policy and Code of Conduct. Ensure that parents are abiding by the CJGA Spectator Policy.
*Fore Caddie: Volunteers will be positioned on specific holes on the golf course to act as spotters for golf shots. Assist in searching for lost balls. Ensure that juniors are abiding by the CJGA Pace of Play Policy and Code of Conduct. Ensure that parents are abiding by the CJGA Spectator Policy.
Registration: Volunteers will check in juniors as they arrive. Ensure that juniors have been given their tee time, the notice to competitors and any giveaways pertaining to the event.
*Starting: Volunteers will be stationed on the first and ensure that all starting guidelines as stated by the CJGA are carried out. Announce players name, hometown, and accomplishments to gallery prior to them teeing off.
*Scoring: Volunteers will be stationed in the official scoring tent. Ensure that all players have returned their scorecards and that all scoring guidelines as stated by the CJGA are carried out. Give out any important information to the players.
*A strong knowledge of golf is an asset
