MARKHAM, ON- The Canadian Junior Golf Association's US Kids Team East Qualifier takes place this Sunday, at Conestoga Golf and Country Club, in Conestogo, Ont. in an event that will also serve as the final installment in the Callaway Junior Worlds Qualifying Series.
Christina Foster is expected to head up a competitive Eight and Under Girls Division this weekend, as the eight-year-old Concord, Ont. native has two victories in two events this season. Uliana Park is another youngster who has excellent chances of winning her division this weekend. The eight-year-old Mississauga, Ont. product has finished second to Foster in both events including a playoff defeat last weekend at Beaverdale Golf Club, in Cambridge, Ont.
With regards to the Boys Eight and Under Division, Hanish Nagrani will be looking for his second consecutive victory. The eight-year-old resident of Welland, Ont. captured first place honours last weekend at Beaverdale. However, he will be challenged by several eager juniors this weekend, including Matthew Lemay, 8, of Waterloo, Ont. Lemay has two second place finishes so far this season.
Vivian Tsui, 10, of Markham, Ont. is expected to rank highly in the Girls 9-10 Division as she has already put together a pair of wins on the Junior Linkster Circuit in 2004. In the Boys 9-10 Division, several juniors have a good chance of capturing their division, including Paolo Addona, 10, of Anjou, Que. In addition to having won his division three weeks ago at Springwater Golf Club, in Minesing, Ont. he captured his first ever Junior Tour event last weekend, winning the Boys 13 and Under Division at Club de Golf Metropolitain, in Anjou, Que.
With two second place finishes to her credit in 2004, 11-year-old native of Shelburne, Ont. Augusta James is expected to take to the golf course with added determination this weekend, in hopes of climbing onto the highest spot on the winner's podium. As for 12-year-old product of Toronto, Ont., Stephanie Cheyne, she proved her ability to compete for the top spot with a third place finish at Beaverdale last weekend.
Shifting attention to the Boys 11-12 Division, a pair of 12-year-old juniors from the province of Quebec are registered to play this weekend. Julien Goulet of St. Roch de L'Achigan, Que. and Jean-Sebastien Viau, who hails from Rosemere, Que. finished second and third respectively at the Junior Tour event at Club de Golf Metropolitain last weekend. They can expect some fierce competition from several young linksters, including 12-year-old resident of Fort Erie, Ont. Jack Gibson. He captured the division title last weekend at Beaverdale.

The US Kids Golf World Championship is truly unique with a total field size exceeding 1000 golfers for the last four years. This nationally televised event has all fifty US states and over 15 countries from around the world represented. The five-day event includes a skills contest, opening and closing ceremonies, practice rounds, press day, and a three day stroke play tournament.
