EURO JUNIOR GOLF CUP St. Andrews, Scotland August 1-3, 2007
Perhaps the most notable international event the CJGA competes in each year is the Euro Junior Golf Cup, formerly known as the World Junior Golf Cup and held in St. Andrews, Scotland. Popular among juniors across North America, the Euro Junior Golf Cup provides junior golfers with an opportunity to re-visit golf's history and maybe make some of their own. Developed in 1998, juniors from three countries - Canada, the United States and Scotland - play in a Triangular Cup (match play) vying for the John Clark Trophy. Before departing for Scotland, juniors experience an elite training camp courtesy of Sean Foley, CJGA National Coach, at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. Juniors are taught the importance of the mental skills and trained in match play tactics. To add support, Richard Zokol, the CJGA National Spokesperson and 23-year PGA Tour pro, accompanies CJGA Team Canada as the non-playing team captain.
