CJGA Junior Tour The CJGA Junior Tour offers competitive multi-day events for junior golfers of all skill levels aged 11-19. Often, junior golfers of the highest skill level use CJGA events as an avenue to attaining a college golf scholarship and/or gaining the necessary physical and mental skills to pursue golf opportunities at the college level as well as on professional tours around the world. In 2007, nearly 50 CJGA graduates accepted offers to play collegiate golf at the NCAA level. As well, a number of alumni are currently playing professionally on tours around the world including Alena Sharp, James Lepp, Chris Baryla, and Richard Scott. With a number of dedicated and highly skilled junior golfers currently playing on tour, this number is expected to rise drastically in the years to come. All CJGA Junior Tour Events are played on Championship courses throughout Canada and range from two to four days in length. Included in the schedule are a number of championship events for the elite junior as well as a number of international qualifying tournaments for several CJGA Team Canada teams. Beginning golfers are encouraged to enroll in CJGA programs. There is no minimum handicap required to play, just basic rules knowledge and a love for the game. The CJGA offers the following age divisions and their respective yardages: Yardages may increase or decrease by 10% depending on golf course conditions and field size within each division CJGA Events Girls Division (11-19): 5400-5800 Yards Boys 13 & Under: 5900-6100 Yards Boys 14-16 Division: 6400-6600 Yards Boys 17-19 Division: 6400-6600 Yards **Note: All divisions are subject to longer yardages for CJGA Championship events and international qualifiers. **Note: All boys divisions will play from a minimum of 6400 yards in Golfweek ranked events.
