Eagle Ridge Golf Club to Host Ontario Fall Series This Weekend

Markham, Ont. - The Canadian Junior Golf Association’s (CJGA) Ontario Fall Series, presented by Baka Wireless, continues this weekend, September 17th and 18th at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Georgetown, Ont. with a full field of over 90 juniors registered to compete.
The long list of elite juniors set to compete in the Boys 13 & Under Division this weekend includes CJGA National Match Play champion and six-time Junior Tour winner, Richard Jung, 13, of North York, Ont., CJGA national stroke play champions, Lucas Kim, 12, of Etobicoke, Ont. and 12-year-old Kristopher Kowalchuk, of Burlington, Ont. as well as standouts Gajan Sivabalasingham, 12, of Markham, Ont. and Aurora, Ontario’s Shyamal Nagindas, 12, who is fresh off his first Junior Tour victory last weekend.
The Boys 14-16 Division will feature national champions Alex Dumais, 16, of Caledon East, Ont. and 16-year-old Michael Gligic, of Burlington, Ont. Dumais was victorious earlier this season during the CJGA national match play championship; while Gligic posted consecutive victories at the national stroke play championships. Also set to compete in the Boys 14-16 Division is former CJGA national champions Justin Shin, 14, of Richmond Hill, Ont. and Oakville, Ontario’s Barrett McCarthy, 15.
Kincardine, Ont. resident Taylor Schmidt, 15, headlines the Girls Division after capturing consecutive CJGA wins. She will compete against 15-year-old Jacqueline Stol, of Peterborough, Ont., who has five top-five placements this season, and Junior Linkster standout Brogan McKinnon, 12, of Mississauga, Ont.
18-year-old Alex Carrigan, of Guelph, Ont., coming off an impressive four-under par performance last weekend, appears to be the one to beat again this weekend in the Boys 17-19 Division. Mississauga’s Sean Burke, 18, has two top-four placements this season and should once again fare well, as should 19-year-old Mingu Kang, of North York, who has several top-ten finishes to his credit.
Tee-times for both days will get underway at 12:00 p.m. Tee-times will be available at www.cjga.com 48 hours prior to the event. As always, spectators are more than welcome to attend.
