Cho Wins Again at Belmont

Langley, British Columbia’s Ted Cho continued his solid post season play on the weekend as the CJGA continued its B.C. Fall Series at Belmont Golf Course in Langley. Cho collected his second consecutive victory in the Boys 17 - 19 Division.

After opening with a tournament low 70 (-2) on Saturday, Cho, 18, cruised to victory on Sunday, finishing at 150 (+6). Second place in the division went to Ryan Stugis, 17, of Mission, B.C. at 161. Ryan Stannard, 19, of Mission, B.C. finished third in the division.

Xin Yu Wang, 16, of Surrey, B.C. earned his second division title of the season at Belmont after posting rounds of 79 and 77 for a 156 total (+12). Wang, who was victorious earlier this year at the CJGA Nike Golf Junior Series at Swan-e-set, was a competitor at the second annual Nike Golf Junior Championship in August. John Koo of Langley and Christian Pomerleau of Kelowna tied for second in the division at 158.

Nicholas Russell, 13, of Vancouver, B.C. also earned his second consecutive division title after defeating Mason Pimentel, 13, of Richmond, B.C. in a playoff. The Boys 13 & Under Division champion posted rounds of 78 and 79 for a 157 total. Third place in the division went to Brian Harrison, 13, of Richmond and Andy Yang, 13, of Coquitlam, B.C. at 160.

Victoria Choi, 14, of Port Coquitlam, B.C. captured her first career CJGA title at Belmont in posting rounds of 83 and 80 for a 163 total. Choi was two strokes better than Coquitlam’s Ashley Rampuri and five better than Richmond’s Goeun Lee.

The CJGA B.C. Fall Series will conclude this upcoming weekend, September 30th and October 1st, at The Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, B.C.
