CJGA B.C. Fall Series to Conclude This Weekend

Markham, Ont. - The Canadian Junior Golf Association’s (CJGA) B.C. Fall Series schedule will wrap up this weekend, September 30th and October 1st, at The Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, B.C. A solid field of competitors will be on hand to battle it out for the final division titles of 2006.

After capturing the Boys 13 & Under title at the CJGA Mizuno Western Canadian Junior Championship in July, Coquitlam, B.C. resident Kevin Lee will be in search of his second division win at the Redwoods. Lee has not finished lower than fifth in any of his four starts this year. Lipton Brisk Canada Cup Team West member, Kevin Kwon, 11, will be in search of his first victory while Richmond, B.C. native Brian Harrison is also looking for a win after a number of top finishes in 2006.

Vincent Wang, 16, of Langley, B.C. will be looking for his third division title of the year in the Boys 14 – 16 Division in what has been a breakout year for the young star. Wang will face stiff competition in what is the largest flight in the tournament. Contenders include Bellingham, Wash. resident Matt Rawitzer, 15 and Joon Lee, 16, of Surrey, B.C.

Ted Cho, 17, of Langley, B.C. will be in search of his third consecutive victory at the Redwoods as he has dominated the fall series schedule in the Boys 17 - 19 Division. Ryan Stugis, 17, of Mission, B.C. and Taylor Mckenzie, 17, of Victoria, B.C. should also contend.

Young phenom Sue Kim, 15, of Langley, B.C. is scheduled to compete this weekend in the Girls Division.  Kim is unbeaten in two starts this year. Soobin Kim, 13, of Port Coquitlam, B.C. has two victories on her 2006 resume.

Tee-times for the event will get underway at 11:30 a.m. for both days. As always, spectators are encouraged to attend.
