Foong Ties for Overall Low in First Collegiate Start of 2006

Congratulations to 2006 CJGA Team Canada member Claudine Foong of Aurora, Ont. who tied for first place at the Draper Valley Invitational in Draper, Va. in her first collegiate start of the season for Gardner-Webb University.  The tournament ran from September 11th to 13th at Draper Valley Golf Club,

Foong, a senior at Gardner-Webb and the captain of CJGA Team Canada at the third annual Stephen Ames Cup this past July, posted rounds of 74, 70, and 73 for a 217 total (+1).  She tied Western Carolina University’s Malin Fryk for medallist honours.

East Tennessee State was victorious in the team event with a three-day total of 932.  Gardner-Webb finished fifth overall, 13 strokes back.  The 54-hole team score was a new school record.
