CJGA Junior Golf Fundraiser Presented by HSBC Bank Canada Deemed a Success

September 12 , 2006

Markham, Ont. - A successful CJGA Junior Golf Fundraiser presented by HSBC Bank Canada and hosted by Richard Zokol wrapped up on Monday at Cedar Brae Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Ont. as a number of Canada’s top professional golfers donated their time in support of the CJGA’s initiatives.

Joining Zokol at the event were Ian Leggatt, James Lepp, Jim Nelford, Gail Graham, David Morland IV, Brian McCann, Ian Doig, Brad Pemberton and radio personality Dean Blundell.

After a well-attended clinic on the driving range featuring all the participating professionals, the field competed within a scramble format on the classic Cedar Brae layout followed by a fantastic dinner ceremony emceed by TSN personality, Rod Black. A silent auction was conducted where one of a kind memorabilia items were bid on by participants through the night.

“It was another great year for the event,” said Zokol, the CJGA’s national spokesperson. “The support from my professional peers for junior golf in this country was evident throughout the day.  I expect another great event next year.”

Although final figures for the event have yet to be released, it is expected that the tournament will significantly alleviate the costs associated with the CJGA international travel assistance as well as its other initiatives.
