CJGA Ontario Fall Series Presented by Baka Wireless Concludes This Weekend

September 27, 2006

Markham, Ont.
- The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will wrap up its Ontario Fall Series schedule this weekend at Caledon Woods Golf Club in Bolton, Ont.

The CJGA Fall Series at Caledon Woods is presented by Baka Wireless and will feature a full field of participants.

National champions Kristopher Kowalchuk, 12, of Burlington, Ont. and Lucas Kim, 12, of Etobicoke, Ont. headline a large Boys 13 & Under Division. Orangeville, Ont. resident Jack Shoreman, 13, should also contend.

Ping Canadian Junior Match Play champion Alex Dumais, 16, will be in search of his third victory of the season at Caledon Woods.  Dumais has not finished lower than fifth in his last four CJGA starts.  Fresh off his victory last week at Deer Creek Golf Club in Ajax, Ont., Whitby, Ont. resident Adam Lewis, 16, will look for two in a row this weekend.  Lipton Brisk Canada Cup Team East member Will Thornburrow, 16, should be among the leaders as well.

A wide open Boys 17 - 19 Division has no clear cut favourite.  Former CJGA Team Canada member Steven Jackson, 17, should do well.  Sean Burke, 18, of Mississauga, Ont. and Mark Hoffman, 18, of Thornhill, Ont. should contend as well.

Coming off three consecutive victories, Taylor Schmidt, 15, of Kincardine, Ont. will be tough to beat in the Girls Division. Expect Jacqueline Stol, 15, of Peterborough, Ont. and Michelle Lee, 14, of Mississauga to push Schmidt for the division title.  Both Stol and Lee have one win to their credit in 2006.

Tee-times for the event will get underway at 11:30 a.m. for both days.  As always, spectators are encouraged to attend.
