CJGA B.C. Fall Series to Open at Sandpiper

Markham, Ont. (September 7, 2007) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will open its British Columbia schedule this weekend, September 8th and 9th, at Sandpiper Golf Club in Harrison Mills, B.C. with the final Teens on the Green World Championship qualifier.

The low overall winner from the event will earn a spot in the Teens on the Greens World Championship to be held in San Antonio, TX from November 21st to 25th.

Gunntas Sidhu, 12, of Port Coquitlam, B.C. should do well competing in the Boys 13 & Under Division this weekend.  Sidhu has one top-ten finish to his credit this year.  Also competing in the division are Donald Qiu, 11, of Richmond, B.C. and Changmin Lee, 13, of Vancouver, B.C.

Junho Lee, 16, of Pitt Meadows, B.C. will be looking for his second division title of the year in the Boys 14 – 16 Division after capturing the CJGA Euro Junior Golf Cup Qualifier in late April at Morgan Creek Golf Course.  Christian Pomerleau, 15, of Kelowna, B.C. should also do well in search if his first 2007 win while Nicholas Russell, 14, of Vancouver should also compete.

The Boys 17 – 19 has no clear cut favourite as the flight will have a first time winner emerge.  Notables include John Koo, 17, of Langley, B.C., and Predrag Panic, 18, of Burnaby, B.C.  Vincent Wang, 17, of Surrey, B.C. should also do well.

Lauren Taylor, 15, of Nelson, B.C., Anica Yoo, 14, of Port Coquitlam, B.C., and Valentina Trillo, 13, of Port Moody, B.C. will battle it out for the Girls Division title.  With one CJGA win to her credit in 2007, Yoo should be tough to beat.

Te-times for the event will get underway at 12:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.  As always, spectators are encouraged to attend.
