CJGA Quebec/Ottawa Junior Championship Set for this Weekend at Upper Canada

Markham, Ont. (September 14, 2007) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will conclude its 2007 Ottawa-Quebec schedule this weekend, September 15th and 16th, at Upper Canada Golf Course in Morrisburgh, Ont. with its annual CJGA Ottawa/Quebec Junior Championship.

CJGA Team Canada member Corey Eccles, 13, of Ile Bizard, Que. leads the way in the Boys 13 & Under Division.  The young star has one win to his credit in 2007.  Phillip Remillard, 12, of St. Bruno, Que. and Lucas Greco, 12, of Montreal should both do well in the flight.

There is no clear cut favourite in the Boys 14 – 16 Division as several junior golfers will be looking for their first victory.  Pierre-Olivier Brunet, 15, of Laval, Que. and Greg Holmes, 15, of Ottawa, Ont. should do well. Holmes was a winner at the CJGA Ottawa PGA Junior Open at Grey Hawk in June.

A strong Boys 17 – 19 flight includes last week’s winner at Royal Woodbine in Etobicoke, Ont, Ben Glynn, 18, of Brockville, Ont.  Mike Eardley, 19, of Ile Bizard, Que. and Vincent Tourigny, 17, of Blainville, Que. should compete for the title as well.

Marilyne Cadieux, 17, of Deux Montagnes, Que. will look to collect her second division title of 2007 on the Girls Division at Upper Canada.  A tough Girls flight includes Saby Dagenais, 15, of Lorraine, Que. and Katherine Gravel-Coursol, 13, of Mirabel, Que.

Tee-times for the event will get underway at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and 10:22 a.m. on Sunday.
