CJGA Tournament Director Named Junior Promoter of the Year
Markham, Ont. (November 7, 2007) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) would like to congratulate its Saskatchewan/Manitoba Tournament Director, Dean Manz, as the Regina native was recently named the CPGA of Saskatchewan’s Junior Promoter of the Year.
Dean, 24, has assisted the CJGA for the past two seasons as its Tournament Director in the province of Saskatchewan and took on a similar role in 2007 in Manitoba. His junior golf involvement also includes his work at Wascana Golf & Country Club in Regina where he teaches over 150 junior golfers and spearheaded the club’s junior golf programs that includes weekly competitive events.
“It’s a great honour to be awarded the CPGA of Saskatchewan Junior Promoter of the Year Award,” said Manz. “Once I turned professional in 2003, it was my passion to give back to junior golf. Through my work at Wascana and through the CJGA, a large amount of my time is now spent helping juniors. As we look to grow the game at the grassroots level, it needs to start with kids and I’m fortunate enough to be in a position to make a difference.”
Dean will return as the CJGA Tournament Director in both provinces in 2008. The provincial CJGA schedules will be released in January, 2008.
Congratulations to the CPGA of Saskatchewan Junior Promoter of the Year, Dean Manz.
