CJGA Team Canada East and West Announced for Lipton Brisk Canada Cup

MARKHAM, ON (July 23, 2008) – 16 of Canada’s up and coming junior golfers will tee it up beginning July 29th for 6th annual Lipton Brisk Canada Cup.  Donalda Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Ont. will host the Ryder Cup style tournament that is the only national event of its kind in Canada.

8 players from Team East will square off against their western counterparts over three days of match play competition featuring fourball, foursomes, and singles matches.  The first team to reach 8.5 points will be declared the winner.  CJGA Team Canada East holds a 3-2 lead in the overall series after its win in 2007 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont.  All team members earned their spot on their respective teams through a series of national qualifying events conduted on the CJGA Junior Tour (ages 11-19).
