Markham, ON (August 13, 2008) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) hosted the Adams Golf Junior Classic at Royal Woodbine Golf Club in Toronto, Ont. Joseph Kremer of Don Mills, Ont. would take advantage of beautiful golfing conditions to score the tournament low 147 (+5) and win the Boys 13 and Under Division.

Kremer held on to his first round lead and win the Boys 13 and Under Division, scoring 75 (+4) in the final round. “I learned some course management from round one, which helped down the stretch with club selection.” commented Kremer.  Nicholas Crozier of Unionville, Ont. came in second place scoring 152 (+7) and Paulino Fernando of Mississauga, Ont. finished in third place.

In the Boys 14-16 Division, first round leader Matthew LaRiviere of Richmond Hill, Ont. faced immense pressure from Max Maddigan of Markham, Ont. who shot a 33 (-2) on the back nine to draw within one stroke of LaRiviere.  “Max was in my group today and he made it really close,” commented LaRiviere, “But I kept it straight off the tee and putted really well to hang on to the win.”  Michael Dane of Innisfil, Ont. and Toronto’s Alexander Turner tied for third place.

In the Girls Division Meghan Allum of Unionville, Ont. pulled an 18 stroke turn around from an opening round 92 (+24) to a second round 74 (+3) to meet Adrienne D’Alessio of Woodbridge, Ont. in a playoff.  Allum was victorious on the first playoff hole to win the Girls Division, and Ju-Hee Bae of Toronto, Ont. finished third.  Michael Ayotte of Whitby, Ont. showed great consistency in posting a first round 76 (+5) and second round 74 (+3) to win the Boys 17-19 Division as Mike Mound of Markham, Ont. and Oakville’s Bradley Cistrone finished second and third respectively.
