3rd annual Sunice Junior Classic to take place this weekend at Eagles Nest
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Markham, Ont. (July 9th, 2007) – A full field of participants are scheduled to compete this weekend, July 14th and 15th, at the 3rd annual Sunice Junior Classic, at Eagles Nest Golf Course, in Maple, Ont. Among the participants are 2006 CJGA division winners Gajan Sivabalasingham, 13, of Markham, Ont., and Brad Altenhoff, 16, of Burlington, Ont.
CJGA Team Canada member, Sivabalasingham will be looking to bring home the division title for a second year in a row, although he will be facing stiff competition from match play opponent at Cherry Downs, and second place finisher at Diamondback this past week, Michael Nedoszytko, 13, of Toronto, Ont. Matthew LaRiviere, 13, of Richmond Hill, Ont., who tied for second at Diamondback, should also contend.
Burlington, Ont. resident Brad Altenhoff, 16, headlines the Boys 14-16 Division, searching for a second victory. Patrick Williams, 16, of Toronto, Ont., will be looking to duplicate his winning performance at Diamonback this past week. Chad Nicholson, 16, of Port Carling, Ont., and David Olejnik, 16, of Burlington, Ont., should also do well.
A strong field in the Boys 17-19 Division includes Will Thornburrow, 17, of Toronto, Ont., who has already collected two wins this season. Andrew Shier, 18, of Burlington, Ont., winner of the Nike Junior Series at Forest City National, and Jed Walmsley, 17, of Cheltenham, Ont., winner at Willow Valley, will both be searching for their second division title of the season as well. Theo Agathos, 17, of London, Ont., will also provide tough competition.
In the Girls Division, Natalie Chung, 15, of Thornhill, Ont., and Delaney Howson, 15, of Newmarket, Ont., will both be teeing it up in search of the division title.
Tee-times are scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. both days. As always, spectators are encouraged to attend.
