~Academy will sponsor two Junior Tour events beginning in 2019~
North York, ON – (February 20, 2019) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce that Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy (GGGA) will partner with CJGA Junior Tour beginning in 2019 as the title sponsor of two Canadian events.
The first Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy BC Spring Classic at University will take place March 23-24, 2019, at the University Golf Club in Vancouver, British Columbia. The event will mark the second Canadian event on the 2019 CJGA Tournament schedule and the first BC event to be ranked by BC Golf, it will also act as an important season warm-up for players heading into the Humber College PGM Western Canadian Championship presented by TaylorMade at North View Golf Club in Surrey the following week.
In April the Ontario Tournament season will kick off with the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Ontario Season Opener at Peninsula Lakes in Fenwick, Ontario. The tournament will be held April 20-21, 2019 and will be the start of the 20 event Ontario CJGA Tournament season.
“The CJGA is delighted to welcome Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy as a partner and premier tournament sponsor in 2019. With the lengthy off-season we experience here in Canada, programs like those offered by GGGA are important in helping young Canadians develop their games,” said Reegan Price, CJGA Director of Tour Operations. “We look forward to working with them to put on some great events and to educate our members on the benefits of such programs.”
Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy founded by legendary PGA TOUR & LPGA Tour instructor Gary Gilchrist is a golf boarding school for student-athletes looking to take their game to the next level. Located in Clermont, Florida just outside of Orlando the Gilchrist Golf Academy is a facility passionate junior golfers can both live and study while they work on advancing their game.
Through its partnership with the Montverde Academy GGGA is able to provide a program that allows student-athletes from around the world to train at the highest level without sacrificing their academics. As an example of the quality of education one can receive while attending the academy, two recent graduates will be attending the University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League) and Baylor University beginning this year.
In addition to teaching some of the best junior golfers, Gary has also taught four number one players in the world and his students have won a total eight major championships combined. Unlike some other academies that exist, Gary is not just a name on the door but a primary instructor who works directly with each and every one of his junior academy students.
“During my years of teaching I have always enjoyed growing the game and helping juniors prepare for competition,” explained Gary Gilchrist. “Having the opportunity to partner with Canadian Junior Golf Academy is exciting because of the growth I am seeing coming from Canada. My greatest memories are when I played tournaments as a junior and learnt from competing at the next level. These events will grow, and I am just grateful to be a part of touching young lives.”
Entries for both Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Tournaments on the CJGA Tournament Schedule are already open and players can enter online at cjga.com.
