Richmond Hill, ON (May 21, 2015) – This weekend the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) travels to Cherry Downs Golf and Country Club in Pickering, ON for the fifth event on the Nike Golf Junior Series. It will prove to be a very busy weekend, with both Junior Tour and Junior Linkster players taking to the course. Players competing in the Junior Tour event will be battling for spots on Team Canada for the Euro Junior Golf Cup, as well as for exemptions into the prestigious Nike Golf Junior Championship.
On the eastern edge of Greater Toronto, Cherry Downs Golf Club delivers the peaceful atmosphere of a grand and peaceful old club. Designed as homage to the greens at Augusta National by Canadian architectural icon Howard Watson, the devilish putting surfaces at Cherry Downs are its most defining feature. Slippery slopes, plateaus, run-offs and the protective surrounds will test your putting mettle. Cherry Downs also offers a nifty nine-hole academy course.
The weather forecast is looking favourable for players with temperatures projected to be in the low twenties.
